Raw celery contains vitamins A, C, B-complex, and E, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium. Cooked celery contains these same nutrients, except no vitamin E.

Celery is 94 percent water and it is low in fat.

This vegetable contains pthalides, rare compounds that lower the blood pressure by relaxing the artery walls.

Celery Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups celery;
  • 1 pint boiling water;
  • 2 cups milk;
  • 1 slice onion;
  • 1/4 cup flour;
  • salt and pepper.


  • Preparation:

    Wash celery and cut in pieces; then cook in boiling water until soft. Scald onion with milk, remove onion and add milk to celery. Add flour and cook together. Season with salt and pepper.

    You can eat this delicious and healthy soup as part of your detox diet plan.
